Journey with Wander Logbook

Wander Logbook is where honest travel advice meets real-world wandering. No filters, no fluff — just practical tips and genuine stories to help you plan trips that are memorable for the right reasons.

I'm Matthew, the person behind Wander Logbook. I started this blog for a simple reason: most travel advice online felt either impossibly glossy or frustratingly vague. I wanted a place that told the truth — what's actually worth your time, what's overrated, and how to plan a trip without the stress that usually comes with it.

My own travels began with a road trip across the USA, and I learned most of what I know the hard way: missed connections, booking mistakes, and the occasional unforgettable detour that turned out better than anything I'd planned. A trip to Iceland changed how I travel. It taught me to slow down, try new things, and enjoy the journey instead of rushing from place to place. Those experiences taught me that the best trips aren't the most expensive or the most photographed—they're the ones that actually fit you.

That's what Wander Logbook is built on. Every guide, packing list, and recommendation here comes from the same question I ask myself before every trip: will this genuinely make someone's travels easier or better? If the answer's no, it doesn't make the cut.

When I'm not writing Wander Logbook, you'll usually find me planning the next trip, hunting down the best coffee in a new city, or poring over maps I have no immediate use for.

ALWAYS PACKING

I believe the best trips come from curiosity, a loose plan, and a willingness to take the scenic detour.
